Church Opening announcement

Posted on 07 October, 2020

We have begun to open our church for our Family service as from the 3rd October. Sabbath school will not be operating at the church for now.

In line with the current government guidance and policies of the South England Conference, the following will apply until further notice:

Strict 2m distancing to apply at all times between different households or those outside of family bubbles.

Face coverings must be worn. Please bring your own face mask

Please park cars leaving every other space unoccupied to ensure distancing.

Please enter the building only through the double doors at the front of the concourse.  On entry there will be a hand sanitising station, with face coverings and gloves available if needed.

A deacon will take a temperature check before allowing entry.  The temperature taken will not be recorded but must be within temperatures designated as “normal”.   If a temperature taken is higher, that person will not be allowed entry to the church.

A list of attendees with contact details is required in advance.  This is to ensure contact tracing is possible should any attendee present symptoms of C19 within 3 weeks of the service. The leaddeacon/deaconess should check this list against attendees present.  Nobody who is feeling sick (whether or not they are displaying Covid symptoms) should attend. The numbers attending will be limited to the number agreed by guidance received from the church board, and will ensure social distancing.

Signs will be placed on pews to assist with distancing.

The toilets in the concourse only will be available to the attendees.  They will be cleaned before the service.  We will operate a strict one in one out due to space limitations in order to adhere to 2m distancing.

The service needs to be restricted to essential elements.  Singing hymns as a congregation is not permitted.

Social distancing should be maintained on exit. It will be appreciated if the attendees can then leave rather than congregate afterwards. Refreshments will not be available.
